THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6TH

There will be a letter writing and potluck. In addition to the normal letter writing we will be using this opportunity to raise funds for Chris French’s legal expenses.  This event will be from 7pm until roughly 8:30pm.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18TH

There will be a report-back from the Anarchist Black Cross Conference. We will also be having our bi-weekly letter writing where we will write letters to the Pacific Northwest Grand Jury Resisters.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10TH

There will be a noise demonstration at the Atlanta City Detention Center to show solidarity with the PNW Grand Jury Resisters.

Meet at 7pm at Troy Davis Park and march to ACDC for a noise demonstration.

HELP US GET TO DENVER - We are currently raising money to send members of the Atlanta Black Cross to the Black Cross Conference in Denver. We are hoping to raise $500 to send a few members there.

National Day of Action Against Mass Incarceration – In the memory of Troy Anthony Davis, the Atlanta Black Cross along with various other organizations here in Atlanta have linked up to resist prisons, the State, and mass incarceration. More information on the event is available here and here.

Join us Thursday night @ 7pm to write letters to prisoners; including Matt Duran who was arrested and imprisoned for resisting the Grand Jury’s attempt at a witchhunt. More information is available here.

Supplies will be provided, if you’ve got some to share please feel free to bring them. (Stamps especially)

August 14th during a march against the Federal Reserve two members of Occupy Atlanta were arrested. Because he was on probation at the time it appears that one of them will be held for violation of his parole.THURSDAY, AUGUST 23RD

 

Thursday at the letter writing we are asking that you come, bring a friend, and a few dollars to contribute to his commissary, Please spread the word.

There will be food provided as well as letter writing materials but if you have things to share we could always use more stamps and snacks.

This week’s letter writing has been canceled but stay on the look out for more updates about ABC events for next week.

Due to last week’s rain we didn’t have a big of a turn out for our weekly letter writing. That means we still need to make a lot of postcards/birthday cards for the political prisoners with birthdays this month.

If you’re not in the mood to be artistic feel free to write a letter instead of making a card.
Feel free to write letters to prisoners; including friends locked up in Chicago, prisoners on the hunger strike that’s happening here in Georgia and the ones that have started in North Carolina. Supplies will be provided, if you’ve got some to share feel free to bring them though!

Please join us for our weekly letter writing to prisoners. There is currently a hunger strike happening in Georgia that’s been going on for over 40 days, and one that just started in North Carolina with over 100 Prisoners participating. We want to get together with everyone that has a desire to work on this and write letters and brainstorm on what we can do here in Atlanta to support this.
